About Byerley House

Byerley House owned by Conrad and Bobbie Allen was purpose built as a small private hotel in 1998 and offers luxurious accommodation close to the centre of Newmarket. Situated in a quiet street only a two-minute walk from the High St, which offers a variety of shops, restaurants and bars.

Although Byerley House has guests from all walks of life “the Allen’s” are both ex-jockeys and Conrad still trains a small string of horses on the Hamilton Rd, and their professional connection with horseracing can offer a unique insight into the sport for any racing enthusiast.

Newmarket is a renowned centre of excellence for horseracing and has been considered ‘Headquarters’ of horseracing since the first recorded race in 1622. Byerley House is a short walk to the world famous gallops and is just 200yds from Tattersalls – Europe’s leading thoroughbred horse auction since 1766. Tattersalls also provides an excellent venue for weddings and other corporate function and Newmarket racecourse have excellent conferencing facilites.

Newmarket is close to Cambridge, Ely, and Bury St Edmunds which each have places of interest to visit.
